Description
Porsche 911 2.7 S Coupé, conservative restoration carried out in 2023 by a renowned Porsche tuner in Palermo. All invoices for the mechanical, body, and interior work are available. The Viper Green paint is a very rare color for this model. It features an RS bonnet, and the original matching hood is also available. ASI gold approval, only four owners. This car has always been Italian, with white license plates and a second registration in the province of Ferrara dating back to 1994.
Model history and curiosity
The Porsche 911 body design was extensively revised for the first time in the 1974 model year. In addition to a Coupé and Targa model, a Cabriolet version was also available starting in the 1983 model year.
The most striking features of this 911 generation are the bumpers with higher-set black plastic bellows. A red trim was applied between the rear lights on the G model, along with red or black Porsche lettering, depending on the model year. The rear license plate was flanked by two large rubber bumpers with integrated license plate lighting.
The higher-set fenders on the G model were a consequence of US homologation regulations. Subsequently, the bumpers had to be able to absorb an impact with a fixed obstacle at speeds of up to 5 mph (8 km/h) without damaging the body. To achieve this cushioning effect, the bumpers on US-market vehicles were connected to the body via hydraulic shock absorbers.
In models not intended for the US market, more cost-effective shock absorbers were installed instead of hydraulic shock absorbers. These had to be replaced after a potential impact. Shock absorbers, however, were available as an option.
Door Frames/Handles
On the 911 and 911 S models, the window frames and door handles were chrome-plated.
Wheels
The 911 and 911 S came with 15" ATS aluminum-alloy wheels as standard.
Exterior Mirrors
Until the 1975 model year, the base 911 had chrome-plated exterior mirrors. Starting in the 1976 model year, larger, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors painted in the body color were installed. The 911 S had chrome-plated exterior mirrors only in the 1974 model year.
Engines
The base 911 had a six-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 2.7 liters. Initially, the engine output was 150 hp, rising to 165 hp starting in the 1976 model year. In the 911 S, the engine delivered 175 hp.
Headlight Bezels
The headlight bezels of the 911/911 S were chrome-plated.
