Piaggio & C. is an Italian manufacturer of motor two-wheelers and commercial vehicles. Founded - as a company - in 1884 and controlled by the industrial holding IMMSI S.p.A. which is listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.
Piaggio & C. operates in the scooter, motorcycle and moped sector using the Piaggio, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi brands; it is also active in three- and four-wheel light transport. In these fields, Piaggio has created two of the most famous Italian industrial design products ever in the world, the Vespa scooter and the Ape three-wheeler. It also holds other historic brands no longer used such as Laverda, Gilera and Derbi.
