Now available to our customers is a rare example of a pre-series Vespa 125 V11T sidecar from 1949, fully restored down to the smallest detail. The sidecar offered is an official Piaggio model.

The very first Vespa equipped with a sidecar was presented and marketed between late 1948 and early 1949. The launch of this model was made possible by the new 125 cc engine (V1T frame models and later), whose superior performance compared to the previous 98 cc finally allowed it to tow the additional weight of a passenger.

Model history and curiosity

The Vespa 125 V11T is a historic Piaggio model produced in 1949, famous among collectors as the Vespa "Bacchetta" or "Barchetta."

This specific frame prefix represents a technological milestone: it marks the introduction of the "Teleflex" transmission system, which replaced the old rigid metal transmissions (rods or "rods") on much of the transmission, saving Piaggio production time and costs.

Main Features: Nickname: It is called "Bacchetta" because the very first batches of the V11T frame (and previous models like the V1T) used a system of external rods to operate the gearbox.

Engine Innovation: The associated engine (prefix V11M) introduced a new cooling circuit with a parallel-ribbed cylinder and head, optimizing heat dispersion compared to the 1948 models.

Original Color: It left the factory exclusively in Metallic Green (Max Meyer Code 6000M).
