Model history and curiosity
Founded by the then twenty-nine-year-old Burkard Bovensiepen, Alpina has always been known to enthusiasts for its close collaboration with BMW and for its cars, based on the production of the Bavarian house, but revised according to the tastes of the brand itself. However, Alpina is not simply a company specialized in tuning applied to BMW cars: it is rather to be considered a brand in its own right, economically independent from BMW itself until 2025, but which works in close collaboration with the Munich house to offer special versions of the cars normally branded BMW. Initially, Alpina was practically a simple car tuner, but later, starting from 1983, it decided to dedicate itself to the production of cars and chose to base itself on BMWs, as an example of sportiness and luxury
