The model offered was an Austin Carbodies Taxi, version FX4W Fairaway, where the "W" stands for easy wheelchair access and the "fairaway" nickname for the model's mechanical upgrades, such as front disc brakes, an improved chassis, and air conditioning for those

Another major upgrade was the Nissan 2.7-liter diesel engine, which proved very robust and reliable. It also increased the turning circle to 7.6 meters for quicker U-turns.
