Model history and curiosity

The Lancia Fulvia Coupé Montecarlo is one of the most iconic and captivating versions of the historic sports car from Turin; it was created to celebrate the legendary victory of Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci at the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally, achieved in a Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.6 HF.
Introduced in 1972 and produced until 1976, the Montecarlo version adopted the aggressive aesthetic of the HF race car, featuring a two-tone body with a matte black, anti-glare hood and trunk lid—paired primarily with the famous *Rosso Corsa* (though also produced in *Blu Corsa*, yellow, and green)—along with sporty details such as the absence of front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches (borrowed from the 1.6 HF version), integrated taillights, and window wind deflectors. The interior is unique to the model: anatomical faux-leather sports seats with integrated headrests, a black leather three-spoke sports steering wheel, and a minimalist dashboard devoid of wood trim for a more racing-oriented look.

Despite its HF-inspired appearance, the Montecarlo was built using the mechanical underpinnings of the second-series Fulvia Coupé 1.3 S:
Engine: 1,298 cc narrow-angle V4;
Power: 90 hp at 6,000 rpm;
Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive;
Transmission: 5-speed manual;
Curb weight: ~930 kg;
Top speed: Approximately 170 km/h.

Approximately 4,400 units were produced, split between the second series and the subsequent "3" version. Today, it is a classic car highly sought after by collectors for its perfect balance between the reliability of the 1.3 engine and the unmistakable rally style of the legendary HF.
