One of the most beautiful sedans built in the 1960s is now available in our showroom. The Jaguar MKII 3.8, in anthracite with a red Conolly leather interior, was restored in the early 2000s. The mechanics and interior are in excellent overall condition. Regular inspection due in 2028. A major tune-up was completed in April 2026, including the replacement of the water pump, brake master cylinder, and bleeding and cleaning of the braking system.

Model history and curiosity

The Jaguar Mark II 3.8 (introduced in 1959 and produced until 1967) is considered the pinnacle of the British luxury sports sedan of the 1960s. Made famous by founder Sir William Lyons's historic slogan—"Grace, Space, Pace"—this car redefined the concept of a high-performance sedan.

The 3.8-liter version represents the most powerful and desirable version of the entire Mk II range. The engine is the legendary XK inline-6 with double overhead camshafts (DOHC). It delivers a remarkable 220 hp, an extraordinary power output for the time, closely related to the engines that powered Jaguar E-Type sports cars and Le Mans-winning racers. It allowed the car to exceed 200 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 8.5 seconds, outperforming most contemporary coupés.

One of the car's most cutting-edge mechanical features was the adoption of four servo-assisted disc brakes as standard. By the early 1960s, braking power was so superior to the average of other cars on the road that Jaguar placed a small triangular badge on the rear bumper on early models bearing the words "Disc Brakes." It was used to warn drivers following behind to maintain a safe distance to avoid rear-end collisions in the event of sudden braking.
