Now available in our collection is one of the finest sedans built in the 1960s—presented in a stunning configuration that highlights its British heritage, perfectly blending luxury with a racing-inspired sporting spirit.

This particular example is equipped with the 3.4-liter engine—the mid-range option of the era—producing 210 hp (just ten horsepower shy of its 3.8-liter sibling). It is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission featuring an overdrive, a highly practical addition for long-distance driving. It also boasts four disc brakes, which provided exceptional stopping power for the time—a feature proudly noted by the emblem set into the rear bumper.

The color scheme is magnificent: finished in the iconic British Racing Green, both on the exterior and throughout the interior—an interior that evokes a classic English drawing room, resplendent with Connolly leather and burr walnut trim.

The car retains its original black license plates from the province of Naples, where it has spent its entire life. It comes with an ASI (Automasi Club Storico Italiano) certificate and has just undergone a fresh technical inspection; it is ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately.

Model history and curiosity

The 1963 Jaguar Mark II 3.4 is considered one of the most iconic and elegant sports saloons in automotive history. Produced between 1959 and 1967, the Mark II defined the modern concept of the high-performance saloon, blending race-derived engineering with British luxury.

Compared to the earlier Mark I, the Mark II featured 18% more glass area, slimmer roof pillars, a widened rear track for improved stability, and fog lights integrated into the front grille. The interior was luxurious, featuring a walnut burl dashboard and trim, Connolly leather seats, and Smiths analog instruments arranged in an aircraft-style layout. The chassis and suspension were state-of-the-art for the time; the adoption of four-wheel disc brakes and front double-wishbone suspension provided braking and handling capabilities superior to those of its contemporaries. The 3.4-litre engine represented the ideal middle ground in the lineup: it offered performance very close to the range-topping 3.8-litre model, yet with smoother power delivery and slightly better fuel economy. In 1960s Britain, the Mark II (in both 3.4 and 3.8 guises) was the getaway car of choice for bank robbers, thanks to its ability to carry four people and make high-speed escapes. For this very reason, the British police adopted it as a patrol car for highway pursuits.

While the 3.8-litre version was the primary choice for pure circuit racing, the 3.4-litre model also competed actively in major events:

British Saloon Car Championship (BSCC): Legendary drivers such as Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori, and Jack Sears dominated touring car races in the early 1960s behind the wheel of the Mark II, frequently beating American sedans with much larger engines.

Historic Rallies: The Mark II also excelled in endurance races and demanding rallies—such as the Monte Carlo Rally and the Tour de France Automobile—demonstrating exceptional mechanical robustness.
