Model history and curiosity
The NSU Prinz Sport (or Sport-Prinz) is a small coupé car produced by the German car manufacturer NSU from 1959 to 1967.
In order to give a sporty image to its small cars, NSU commissioned the Bertone body shop to study a sporty version of the Prinz model. The design was entrusted to Franco Scaglione who managed to conclude, despite the small size, a balanced sporty line that suggested a vague resemblance to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, created by the same designer. The prototype, almost entirely corresponding to the final car, was completed in July 1958. After some detailed changes, the presentation to the press took place in September of the same year, while the following month the car was unveiled as a world preview at the Paris Motor Show.
