Model history and curiosity

Approximately 3,331 Triumph TR3B models were built for the 1962 model year. These rare, transitional cars were produced in two series: 530 with the commission number prefix TSF and 2,804 with the prefix TCF. The TR3B was created to appease dealers in the North American market who were uncertain about the TR4's commercial success.

Total production: Around 3,331 TR3Bs were produced, with the 2,804 TCF series cars being the more common version.
Two series:
TSF series: 530 cars were built, featuring the TR3A's 1991cc engine but with a fully synchronized gearbox.
TCF series: 2,804 cars were built, which are the ones commonly referred to as TR3Bs. These cars had the new 2138cc engine from the TR4, a fully synchronized gearbox, and were often painted in different colors than the TR3A

Reason for production: The TR3B was a stopgap model, created to sell alongside the new TR4 to allay dealer fears about the success of the new model.
